MINISTRY OF MUSIC

Old Dutch Church lays a great emphasis upon music and we have a magnificent organ and Musical program that is a regular part of our Worship Service. We believe that it is delightful to praise God through music and the congregation is invited to sing along to hymns as hymn books are provided in all of the pews. There is also the passive enrichment of listening to one of Old Dutch Church’s wonderful choirs and the great Moeller Pipe Organ throughout the Worship Service.

We sincerely invite you to be a part of our Senior Choir which sings each Sunday and whose members enjoy great fellowship. The Senior Choir leads the congregation in worship and praise. Senior Choir rehearsals are Thursday evenings at 7:00pm. The Old Dutch Church Handbell Choir is an ensemble of musical talents who perform monthly and on holidays. It is a truly unique experience to listen to Handbells fill the Sanctuary with their angelic sound and it is delightful to watch the intricate visual display as they are being played. The Handbell Choir is open to individuals of all ages and experience levels. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 6:00pm. Lastly, the Old Dutch Church Junior Choir is an opportunity for the little ones to praise God through music. Junior Choir is for children Grades 2 and up. Children have so much fun socializing in Junior Choir, but also learn vocal and percussion skills by practicing songs that are then performed during the Worship Service. Rehearsals are on Sunday mornings after the Worship Service. Patricia I. Johnson is Director of Choirs for Old Dutch Church and Jean Hattersley is Organist.
