OLD DUTCH CHURCH MISSION
Old Dutch is not only interested in our own story, our own building or even our own community; our vision of Outreach literally extends to "the ends of the earth." Old Dutch sponsors four missionary couples through the Mission Services of the Reformed Church in West Africa, Mexico and Bahrain in the Middle East. In addition, we help support "one of our own," Jennifer Bliss, who has been serving as a missionary in Bosnia Herzegovina for several years. We also support children that are in need and living in impoverished conditions in the third world through the mission of the Reformed Church of America.
We support the Reformed Church seminary at New Brunswick and are also involved locally in mission through cooperative work with the Kingston Area Council of Churches. Old Dutch Church has partnered and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in renovating a home for a deserving family in Midtown Kingston and we provide financial support for the Rural and Migrant Ministries. We are also involved in supporting the Domestic Violence Shelter of Kingston and Caring Hands Soup Kitchen. Each month Old Dutch Church purchases food vouchers from Hannaford Supermarkets for distribution by Family of Woodstock.
Old Dutch Church ’s minister, Pastor Ken Walsh has been actively involved in the fight against AIDS and he is the President of Angel Food East which is a program in which hot meals are delivered to AIDS patients. We have hosted World Aids Day observances here at the church for several years as well.
